MAP: Celebrating 20 years of service.

From overheating and flat tires to running out of gas and jump starts, the Motorist Assistance Program has kept our freeways safer by helping motorists in need. In fact, since the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Automobile Dealers Association started the program in 1986, MAP has helped over 600,000 stranded motorists. And along with being equipped to handle minor automotive problems, each specially marked MAP vehicle includes a cellular phone to help motorists notify family, friends or employers that everything is okay.

IT’S FREE! - The Motorist Assistance Program is offered 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, FREE of charge.
