HADA & Community Leaders Donate Custom Trucks to Houston Fire Department

With the support of generous community partners, the Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association Charitable Foundation presented the Houston Fire Department Arson Division with two new trucks customized for the K-9 teams.

A significant donation from the Houston Auto Dealers Association, along with additional support from The Cockrell Foundation, Nancy Williams and members of the HPFFA Charitable Foundation Advisory Board, ensured the outfitting of two Ford F-150 trucks for arson team members, Tim Kelly and his dog, Lux, and Greg Chapa and his dog, Humphrey.

The arson division was presented with the trucks during a ceremony at HFD Station 6 on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.

“This donation to Houston firefighters reflects our appreciation of their service and dedication, but also reflects our shared commitment to giving back to the community through charity,” said Alan and Elizabeth Stein, leaders of the HPFFA Charitable Foundation Advisory Board. “Working together, we wanted this donation of trucks to be immediately useful to the men and women of HFD.”

This is the first time the department has received specialized equipment for the K-9 unit. It will be put to immediate use to assist in the protection of the dogs to and from, and during investigations.
